Research Samsung SCH-M300

So my roommate has Verizon (unfortunate for him). He wants to switch phones, he's had his for two years. Most people after two years are eligible of getting an upgrade in order to encourage you to sign a new contract, but not him, he's in a six year contract so he tells me. Yes, SIX years. He currently has an SCH-A870 and wants me to hack a Sprint Samsung M300 to work with his account. I figure it could could work, considering that Verizon has announced recently that they are "opening" their network to all phones that will work on it. I mean, Sprint uses CDMA and Verizon does as well, so it should work. Unless, they use slightly different frequnecies, then this is all futile. I ordered the data cable for it, it should be here in a few days (I didn't have this cable despite having every other cable). I'd really like to reflash the phone to the manufacturer's OS/UI so that it could be programmed for any CDMA network (so, I think). The thing is I can't seem to find any flash file or even a method on how to get into the service menu. I've never worked on a Sprint phone before, especially turning it into a Verizon phone. I tend to work mostly on Motorola phones, so Samsungs I guess would be a bit more challenging. I'll figure it out I guess.
